i m gonna type all the food test out to help me remember! HAHAHAHA!
Benedict's Test, to identify reducing sugar
Steps: Add 2cm^2 of Benedict's solution into 2cm^2 of glucose solution into a test tube and shake the mixture. Leave the mixture in a beaker of boiling water for five minutes.
Results
-If the blue remains blue, this means there isn't any reducing sugar.
-If the blue turns to green precipiate this means there are traces of reducing sugar.
-If the blue turns to yellow or orange precipitate, this means there is moderate amount of reducing sugar.
-If the blue turns to brown or brick red precipitate, this means there is large amount of reducing sugar.

Starch Test, to identify starch
Steps: Add a few drops of iodine solution to a piece of potato on a white tile.
Results
- If starch is absent, it remains BROWN!
- If starch is present, it turns BLUE-BLACK!

Ethanol(alcohol) Emulsion Test, to identify fats
Steps:
-On LIQUID food
1. Add 2cm^2 of ethanol to a drop of coconut oil in a test tube and shake the mixture thoroughly.
2. Add 2cm^2 of water to the mixture and shake the mixture.
-On SOLID food
1.Cut a peanut into small pieces and place the pieces in a test tube. Add 2cm^2 of ethanol and shake thoroughly.
2.Allow the solid particles to settle then decant the ethanol into another test containing 2cm^2 of water.
Results
-If fats is present, cloudy white emulsion will be formed.

Biuret Test, test for proteins.
Steps:
1. Add 1cm^3 of sodium hydroxide solutn to 2cm^3 of egg white solutn into a test tube. And shake thoroughly.
2. Add 1% copper(II) sulphate solutn, drop by drop, shaking after every drop.
Results
- If the blue solutn turns violet(deep purple), this means PROTEINS are PRESENT!!!!
- If the blue solutn turns pink, this means short- chain of POLYPEPTIDES are PRESENT!!!
